We all know how “trying” it can be to teach our kids to ski or snowboard. Sometimes it’s fun…and well, other times, not so much! Fortunately, our local resorts offer plenty of options for children to learn to ride and enjoy this wonderful winter pastime. We’ve included a little information on some great Colorado ski school deals for all the Summit County Resorts.

Kids’ Club Arapahoe
Both skiers and snowboarders in kindergarten through 5th grade work with instructors on skill development, adventure, and mountain safety. This fun learning environment allows kids to work with the same instructor for each four-week session. Kids’ Club meets on Saturdays from 9:00am – 3:00pm.

Lil Kids Club
Preschool skiers work with instructors on skill development and mountain safety. Kids hone their sense of adventure with the same instructor over the four-week period. Lil Kids Club offers the choice of either morning or afternoon sessions! Lil Kids Club meets on Saturdays from 9:15am – 12:15pm for morning sessions and 1:00pm – 4:00 pm for afternoon sessions. Each session is limited to 80 students.

XTreme Teen
A multi-week Saturday program that challenges your middle schooler’s adventurous spirit! Classes focus on exploring steeps, chutes, trees, bumps, powder, and the terrain park. Groups are matched by similar abilities with the same instructor each day.

Basin Breakin’
During school breaks in January and February, let your kids rip, ride, and relax with the Arapahoe Basin Snowsports School! Join us for four days of fun, or drop-in for just one or two. It’s a great opportunity to hang out with friends and get some time on the slopes.

Choppers
Every skier and snowboarder hopes to one day unlock their true potential. For kids involved in the Choppers program, that moment has come. Choppers instructors are dedicated to offering a truly adventurous day on the slopes, as they give specific, expert advice aimed at advancing any ability level. Woodward at Copper Park Rats (Ages 10-18)
Take your park & pipe skills to the next level. This is a freestyle oriented program where participants work on existing tricks or learn new ones with the same coach all season long.

BRECKENRIDGE
Breckenridge’s Ski & Ride Camps are special programs that are designed for specific groups with specific learning objectives and range from 1 to 7 days (Not always consecutive). Camper’s benefit from small group sizes with highly qualified instructors that design lessons specifically for their age group and learning objectives. Camps are only available on specified dates. Reservations must be made in advance.

Keystone Explorers (Ages 3-4)
Do you have a potential “little ripper”? Keystone wants to help you turn your youngster into the next superstar! Explorers is a three or four-week program designed for children ages 3-4 years old. Skiers of all ability levels are welcome. Children are grouped by age and ability level. Keystone Ski and Ride School strives to help kids experience skiing in a fun and safe environment. Children MUST be potty trained

Keystone Kroozers
Keystone Kroozers – All Levels
Kroozers is a three or four-week program designed for kids ages 5-15 years old. Skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels are welcome. Children are grouped by age and ability level. Kroozers strives to help children develop a solid skill-set in a safe environment while promoting camaraderie amongst peers. Kroozers lessons feature weekly themes, including a race day finale on the last day of each session.
Keystone Freestyle Kroozers – Level 5+
Kroozers Freestyle is a three-week and four-week program (available for the January and February sessions) designed for skiers and snowboarders who are 5-15 years old and Level 5+. Children are grouped by age and ability level. Freestyle Kroozers is designed to take children to the next level. Children will have the opportunity throughout the session to get an introduction to Keystone’s parks, improve on current skills and learn new tricks with PSIA and AASI Certified Freestyle Instructors.
